Attraction Marketing Strategies against Old School MLM Strategies can be compared to one boxer in the Blue corner and the other in the Red corner.

Old school MLM (blue corner) has been around for many years and has been successfully used to build some of the biggest businesses in network marketing.

Conglomerates such as Amway, Herbalife and Avon have trusted old school strategies for their success and glamour lifestyle.

There are still people using old school strategies to build a huge business in MLM and in my opinion, there always will be.

It is not a question of which is better between the Old School and New School, however which is more dublicatable, or is sensible to you and will make you the most money.

Robert Kiyosaki’s book “Cashflow Quadrant” he gives a short story that was told to him by his “wealthy father” showing the difference between working hard or working smart.

In the story, two businessmen each start a separate business to provide the village with water.

The first one carries endless buckets of water to the village while the other guy goes away for six months, and returns with a team of people.

The second trader further spends six months building a pipeline to take water to the village.

When the second guy with the pipeline is finally ready, he offers better quality water, more frequently and for 75% less than his competitor.

He succeeds in his business venture. The dilemma of either working hard or working smart is what makes Kiyosaki rich and wealthy and there are two questions which Robert asks himself before any business venture.

The questions are:

1) Am I building a pipeline or hauling buckets?

2) Am I working hard or working smart?

These are the kinds of queries you should ask yourself if you want to join a Network Marketing business or you want to advance your business that is already there.

Here Are Some Examples of Hauling Buckets in Your Network Marketing Business

Use of unsolicited calls to leads in your network marketing business.

You can apply the old school saying “three foot rule” to anyone you meet and also bug family and friends.

All the other old school traditional network methods such as letterbox drops, handing out flyers at the local shopping mall, pitching the check out operators in the supermarket.

Let’s face it, who wants to do all that stuff? If you are doing a business and you do not employ any type of system and not using leverage, you are without doubt hauling buckets!

New School Attraction Marketing MLM (red corner) has come about since the birth of the internet and the information age.

Attraction marketing has given network marketers another way of building their business, by use of the pipeline system (from Kiyosaki’s story) rather than hauling buckets.

Speaking of carrying buckets and being fair to Old School Marketing, there is a new type of MLM professionals who use other ways to build their business. They take a much more cosmopolitan approach to building their business.

Rather than ambush unsuspecting prospects at shopping malls and other places, they invite individual people who have asked for information (through a friend or whatever) to a coffee shop.

Another way is coming together with a small group of people who are interested and meeting at someone’s home and showing them the video have a coffee and some snacks. This way of building a networking marketing business

Has been around for years, in form of parties (as Tupperware have done very successfully for years)

This is all very casual, no pressure on anyone, and all the reports show that it is also fun.

Generating qualified potential clients that you may wish to speak with and providing them materials that they require is the idea behind Attraction Marketing.

By giving an internet marketing system they can follow and furthermore teach to their downline, or a video training explaining to them how they can build their own qualified leads.

By doing this, you are giving them something valuable and providing them a system to evaluate without them having to make a commitment beforehand.

This is totally opposite to the old school approach whereby you try to “sell” to anyone who is within a three foot circle not caring whether they want it or not.

Other advantages of the new school method is that you don’t look as if you are chasing prospects, you don’t look desperate, it doesn’t take away your power and you don’t lose your posture.

There was no opportunity for your leads to do a background check to ascertain the validity of your company or products before the internet. It was difficult for prospects to compare your company with hundreds of other companies so they could chose the company they felt was best for them.

But as I said earlier, it is up to the person which corner (red or blue) they want to appear from. Either way, good luck and remember this business is supposed to be fun and not something we dread waking up to every day.
